From the evening of Monday 15 April for four consecutive nights, Selborne Road will be closed overnight from the A31 to the old Winchester Road roundabout. This is to resurface the carriageway and apply white lining. This will take place between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
The access route to Winchester Road properties during these overnight closures will be through the works area, as if entering Winchester Road in the old way before the works began.
During the day, access will be as it is currently, via the new link road.
Please refer to illustrative plans - here.
Overnight, the diversion route will be via the A31 and Montecchio Way, through Alton to approach Selborne Road from the south.
Please follow the routes indicated by the relevant temporary signage.
We will be doing all we can not to disturb nearby residents.
The work is currently scheduled as follows:
15 April – remove existing tarmac from Selborne Road
16 April - lay new tarmac to Selborne Road, south of the roundabout
17 April - lay new tarmac to Selborne Road
18 April - lay new tarmac to Selborne Road
As the work is weather dependent, it is possible the closures could be delayed until the following week, should the conditions be unsuitable.
